Webster Technique

The Webster Technique is a chiropractic method developed by Dr. Larry Webster to correct pelvic imbalances found in people of any condition, but is particularly useful for pregnant women. It can help pregnant women achieve optimal fetal positioning, especially in breech cases. During pregnancy the pelvis can become misaligned which may complicate delivery. Breech and posterior positions can disrupt natural labor and lead to delivery interventions such as Cesarean sections.

Correct positioning in-utero can optimize delivery for fewer interventions during birth and decrease the potential for stress to the baby’s developing spine and nervous system. The Webster Technique focuses on encouraging normal positioning by adjusting the mother’s hips, pelvis and lower spine through gentle physical manipulation. Dr. Gessay is certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association in the Webster Technique.

Clinical studies report an 82% success rate of relief from musculoskeletal causes of intrauterine constraint in cases in which the Webster Technique is administered by a trained physician during the 8th month of pregnancy1. Studies also show that when the Webster Technique was used in cases of breech positioning resulted in resolution in 92% of cases2.
